Wike’s Aide, Lere Olayinka Makes U-turn, Gives Fubara Hint On How To Resolve Crisis With Wike

Special assistant to former governor Nyesom Wike on media and publicity, Lere Olayinka has given an unusual piece of advice to governor Sim Fubara amid the Rivers state lingering political feud.

Lere Olayinka who had been critical of governor Sim Fubara made a subtle shift as he seemingly suggested to the governor viable means of settling with Nyesom Wike.

Lere Olayinka through his X handle, reminded governor Sim Fubara of the implication of former governor Nyesom Wike control of the Rivers state House of Assembly members, the 23 local government chairmen of the state as well as ward councillors. He suggested that governor Sim Fubara is handicapped politically because he neither controls the state house of assembly nor has the support and loyalty of the LGA chairmen. As a result, Lere Olayinka highlighting governor Sim Fubara’s vulnerability, enjoined him to recognize the supremacy of former governor Nyesom Wike over him and go to him to submit to him completely. Lere Olayinka added that nothing else aside governor Sim Fubara’s submission to Nyesom Wike is a way out of his current situation.

” As a Governor, if another person is the one controlling your House of Assembly, LG Chairmen and Councillors, as well as the entire Political Structure in your State, it means the person is your BOSS politically.

Just go to the person, raise up ONE LEG, TWO HANDS and shout TWALE! Ko ju bee lo.
Hissssssssh”, he wrote on his X account.

Nigerians in reaction to Lere Olayinka’s remark, questioned his sudden change of stance– from insisting on Fubara’s impeachment to advising governor Fubara to go and submit to Nyesom Wike. Some also insinuated that Lere Olayinka’s piece of advice to governor Sim Fubara is borne of defeat as his principal, Nyesom Wike has realized that he is incapable of impeaching governor Fubara as he has plotted.

The Rivers state political crisis has lingered for several months, defying reconciliatory interventions from religious and political leaders including president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
