Why US Is Interested In Nigeria Christian Persecution –US Rep. Riley Moore

US House of Representatives member, Riley Moore who lead a delegation of US lawmakers to Nigeria on a fact-finding mission, has declared that the United States of America is particularly interested in the wellness and freedom of Nigerian christians.

Riley Moore had in his preliminary investigative report on Nigeria’s aggravating insecurity and Christian persecûtion stated that about 600,000 christians are currently displaced in Benue state while thousands had been kîlled by islamist Fulani Jihadists. Rep. Riley Moore explicitly declared that the Fulani Jihadists are responsible for the mass kîlling of christians, invasion of christian communities particularly in the middle belt region, and destruction of churches, stating that his experience from visiting Benue state is “harrowing” and will haunt him forever.

Hence, while speaking to Fox news recently, Rep. Riley Moore thanked president Donald Trump for trusting him with the responsibility of leading the delegation to Nigeria on such an important mission, declaring that the US government is committed to defending the Nigerian christians.

He explained that the US strong interest in defending Nigerian christians is because the US is a Christian nation and must protect christians who are being persecuted for their faith. He described the commitment from the US government as the right thing to do.

Our brothers and sisters in Christ are being persecuted, murdered, and martyred for their faith.

Thank you the president of the United States of America for asking me to lead this investigation in the House.

We are a Christian nation – we must stand up for Christians. This is truly right and just.

While the US investigators in their report, claim that there is christian genócide in Nigeria as well as viólent attacks by terrórist groups such as Boko Haram, ISWAP and ISIS, the Nigeria’s government argues that christians are not being targeted in Nigeria. The Nigeria’s authority believe that terrorists groups are responsible for Nigeria’s insecurity which indiscriminately affect people of all faith in the country.

A few weeks after redesignating Nigeria as a country of particular concern, the US government on 16th of December, included Nigeria among 23 other countries with restricted entry to the United States of America.
