Controversial self-acclaimed prophet and founder of the INRI evangelical spiritual church, primate Elijah Ayodele has drawn the governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke into his recent numerous prophetic revelations.
Primate Elijah Ayodele nicknamed on social media, “the political prophet” warned governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state over his political future.
According to the prophet in a statement which he described as the “warning of the Lord to governor Ademola Adeleke”, the governor must be wary of his political foes and members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun state amid the uncertainty surrounding his future in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He emphasized that governor Adeleke must as a matter of importance, strategize and realign ahead of his reelection bid in 2026. He said the governor’s current body language which suggests that he is making overtures to move to the APC in the face of former governor Oyetola and his supporters objection to such a move, might be the beginning of the end of governor Ademola Adeleke’s governorship administration.
He said that the APC, backed by the federal might, has whatever it takes to defeat governor Adeleke at the polls in 2026 especially if the governor does not start now to strategically play his roles well.
Recall that in 2022, senator Ademola Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor of Osun state, Adegbeyoga Oyetola to become the governor of Osun state. His election victory was later validated by the Nigeria’s supreme court.
Amid the political rivalry between former governor Oyetola and Ademola Adeleke; rivalry which started in 2018 when senator Ademola Adeleke made his first attempt at the Osun state governorship seat but was beaten to it by Adegbeyoga Oyetola, the Osun state residents would predictably witness another political bout between governor Ademola Adeleke and former governor Adegbeyoga Oyetola in 2026.
In 2022, senator Ademola Adeleke through the support of former governor Rauf Aregbesola, defeated governor Oyetola. However, it is believed that former governor Oyetola who is currently serving in president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as the minister for Marine and Blue Economy will attempt a comeback against governor Ademola Adeleke in 2026.
With the PDP prolonged crisis still unresolved, governor Ademola Adeleke is recent times was speculated to be negotiating with the APC hierarchy including president Bola Ahmed Tinubu over a possible switch to the ruling party to guarantee his reelection.
While the report has remained a mere speculation which governor Adeleke had denied, his recent meeting with president Bola Ahmed raised doubt over the governor’s political future in the PDP
Primate Elijah Ayodele advises the governor to be decisive and resolute in his stance especially as his reelection chances are in his hands as well as his failure at the polls in 2026.
The prophet added that the governor sooner or later will start witnessing his trusted allies especially members of cabinet leaving him to join his political opponent in Osun state and to work against his reelection.
Meanwhile, there are concerns already over the Osun 2026 governorship election due to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s blood relationship with former governor Adegbeyoga Oyetola who is widely regarded as the favourite to pick the APC’s ticket. Many doubt whether the president would be neutral in such an election which would have his relative on the ballot.
