Nasir El-rufai’s Niece, Rukaiya Makes Heart Melting Confession About The Former Governor
Former governor Nasir El-rufai’s niece, Rukaiya Bashir El-Rufai who serves as president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s special adviser on national economic council (NEC) and climate change, has stunned her social media followers by the manner she expressed deep admiration for the former governor of Kaduna State.
Rukaiya Bashir El-Rufai through her X account, described Nasir El-rufai as her “favourite uncle” whose brilliant mind and vast experience has shaped her life.
She thereafter insinuated that Nigeria as country undermines its best and that Nasir El-rufai is arguably one of the finest leaders Nigeria has produced.
“Had a great time yday with my fave uncle, @elrufai, watching Hamilton. I truly cherish the past few days learning & soaking in from his brilliant mind & wealth of experiences. Nigeria has a way of not fully appreciating its stars. Love him or hate him, he remains 1 of our finest”, she wrote.
Rukaiya Bashir publicly expressing her admiration for her uncle, former governor Nasir El-rufai comes amid speculation that he is currently on self-imposed exile necessary to evade being arrested and prosecuted for corruption by the administration of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Former governor Nasir El-rufai who has become one of the most critical voices against president Tinubu’s administration, had been accused by the Kaduna State House of Assembly of misappropriating 423 billion naira during his governorship administration from 2015 to 2023. The allegation against the governor also includes that he left behind 311 billion naira debt for his successor, Uba Sani.
Despite former governor Nasir El-rufai’s denial of the allegation, the adhoc committee constituted by the Kaduna State House of Assembly to probe the allegation, in its report, accused the Nasir El-rufai’s administration of “systematic and coordinated cornering of the resources of Kaduna State through phoney contracts and outright looting”.
The allegation of corruption against Nasir El-rufai by the the Kaduna State government came up after Nasir El-rufai fell out with his successor, governor Uba Sani who emerged the governor of Kaduna State through Nasir El-rufai support and mentorship
