Member of the Nigeria’s House of Representatives representing Kaduna South federal constituency, Bashir El-rufai has taunted president Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his reelection in 2027.

Bashir El-rufai one of the son’s of former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai, through his X handle, insinuated that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no chance of defeating either Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.

Bashir El-rufai had in his earliest tweet, disclosed his displeasure at Bayo Onanuga, president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s spokesperson. He described Bayo Onanuga’s face as frightening, noting that he dislikes the presidential spokesperson.

Bashir El-rufai followed up his attack on the presidency by claiming that Atiku Abubakar appear to have got his best chance of ascending to the president’s sit in 2027. He noted that 2027 stands as the best time for the serial presidential aspirant to finally actualize his ambition. He claims that everything appear to have fallen into place for Atiku Abubakar except the ambition of Peter Obi.

He explained that Atiku Abubakar’s path to the presidency faces just a single obstacle which is Peter Obi. According to him, Peter Obi also will also defeat president Tinubu in 2027 if he picks a strong northern running mate. He said Obi’s victory will come before president Tinubu’s wife, Remi Tinubu would be able to have her breakfast at noon.

Bashir El-rufai described Peter Obi as an astute politician with cult-like followers across the country and whose personality resonate with the vast majority of the Nigeria’s youths across different regions.

Aside stating that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu stand no chance against Atiku Abubakar nor Peter Obi, Bashir El-rufai refered to president Bola Ahmed as Pablo Escobar– alluding to US court record against president Tinubu which shows his drug-money forfeiture to the US government in 1993.

The Nigeria’s president is alleged to have forfeited outrageous proceeds of drug trafficking in 1993 to the US government.

However, while Nigerians groan over the worsening security and economy of the country under the leadership of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a credible alternative to his underperforming administration is eagerly being awaited by Nigerians.

Prominent politicians including former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former governor Rotimi Amaechi, and former governor Peter Obi have all declared their 2027 presidential ambition under a coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

However, the opposition presidential aspirants have been advised to synergize necessary for them to build a united front against the incumbent president Tinubu seeking reelection. But this synergy among the opposition presidential aspirants appear to be elusive due to their personal ambitions.

For instance, a presidential ticket combining Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi has been described as the most viable and widely acceptable among Nigerians and which president Bola Ahmed stand no chance against.  This appears to be near-impossible due to the personal interest of the parties involved. Peter Obi who was Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in 2019 against late president Muhammadu Buhari, has declared that he will certainly be on the presidential ballot paper in 2027.

This declaration implies that should Atiku Abubakar insist on running for the president in 2027, the 2027 presidential election will likely be a repeat of the 2023 presidential election which produced president Bola Ahmed as its winner at the expense of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
