The dismissal of the six civil servants followed a thorough investigation by the Abia state civil service commission which arrived at the judgement after reviewing financial records and interrogating the accused.
Another accused, Mrs. Chioma Favour Madu was exonerated by thr commission as initial investigation revealed that she has reported overpayment as well as taken some steps to correct what she sensed as an error.
The Abia state government disclosed that those who were indicted will be handed over to the relevant agencies for prosecution in line with the country’s constitution.
The state governor, Alex Otti stated that the development is inline with his administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency in public service.
