Fayose Reveals The Secret Reason Gov. Makinde Went To Meet President Tinubu In Aso Rock

Former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has made some stunning claims about Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde meeting president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Aso Rock behind closed doors on 22nd of January.

Former governor Fayose through his X account, claimed to know the secret motive behind Seyi Makinde seeking to meet president Tinubu in person despite his verbal attacks on the president a few weeks ago.

According to Fayose, governor Seyi Makinde lacked the courage to meet president Tinubu and had to consult the governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang to accompany him to see president Tinubu in Aso Rock. Fayose claims that Seyi Makinde sought the assistance of governor Caleb Mutfwang in facilitating the meeting as well as mending his relationship with president Tinubu.

“First, Governor Seyi Makinde demonstrated that he now lacked enough courage to face the President alone, he had to enlist the support of the Plateau State Governor”, Fayose stated.

Former governor Fayose thereafter claimed that president Tinubu gave governor Seyi Makinde condition for their meeting, stating that the agenda of the meeting must be in the interest of Oyo State and not about Seyi Makinde’s personal interest.

“The President told him that if it was about official matters regarding Oyo State, he will listen to him”.

He added that president warned the governor that the agenda of their meeting must not be about former governor Nyesom Wike and claims that Wike is the reason he had been critical of his administration including stating on national television that the Tinubu’s administration was determined to turn Nigeria into a one party state.

“But if it had to with politics and any claim that it was Wike that angered him to go on TV to accuse him (President) of plotting to turn the country to a one party state, it is better to as usual, go on TV to say all he (Makinde) had to say.

He was told pointedly that he can’t come to the closet on political matters to eat his words, while saying another thing to the public”.

Fayose also claimed that president Tinubu told governor Seyi Makinde that he is not expecting any form of support from him in 2027 and that he will not get any support from him, the president.

Fayose added that president Tinubu told Seyi Makinde that Nyesom Wike is a reliable associate whom he will not act against and that if he, Seyi Makinde has issues with Wike, that he (Tinubu) prefers to be left out.

He added that because Seyi Makinde did not get any favourable answer to his request from the president, he told the pressmen at the end of the meeting that he feels comfortable in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and harbours no interest of defecting to the APC.

“The President told Governor Makinde that he was not expecting any support from him regarding 2027, and that he should also expect that he (President) will support his party.

Lastly, the President made it clear to Makinde that Wike is someone whose support and consistency he (President) can’t deny or wished away. Therefore, if Makinde has issues with Wike, that is between the two of them, I should be left out of it.

That’s why Makinde told the press that he’s comfortable in PDP. It’s because of the reality that there’s nothing for him in APC”.
