Son of former governor of Kaduna State, Bello El-rufai who represents Kaduna North Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has publicly declared his support for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027 at the expense of his father.

Bello El-rufai who was at the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Submit in Abuja, joined other APC lawmakers and appointees to publicly endorsed president Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 reelection bid; declaring him the sole presidential candidate in 2027.

While the 37 year old lawmaker did not personally endorse president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2027 other than the group endorsement, it is being speculated that Bello El-rufai is not in good terms with his father. While his father’s relationship with his successor, governor Uba Sani is strained, Bello El-rufai still relates with the Kaduna State governor at the expense of his father.

Bello’s endorsement of Tinubu comes at the expense of his father, Nasir El-rufai who is currently galvanizing the opposition parties’ figures with the aim of stopping Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

Former governor Nasir El-rufai since his falling out with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu after his failed ministerial appointment, has assumed the position of an opposition despite his contribution to president Tinubu’s presidential victory in 2023.

Nasir El-rufai earlier this year, announced his defection from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) citing APC’s deviation from its founding principles.

While speaking recently at a public event, Nasir El-rufai boasted that president Tinubu will be sent back to Lagos in 2027, signifying his direct political confrontation with president Bola Ahmed. While Nasir El-rufai has not made his presidential ambition known publicly, he has been liaising with Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in what has been considered a coalition talk to defeat president Tinubu in 2027.

Sources claim that the former governor of Kaduna State has agreed to go into a coalition with Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Aregbesola on the platform of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC).  The report claim that ADC has been chosen by the coalition proponents who will then collapsed their political structures and supporters into the party which currently has only two lawmakers in the country.

Reliant.ng had reported that the national chairman of the ADC, Ralph Okey Nwosu while speaking on Arise Tv, confirmed that his party has been chosen for the coalition. He also explained that the members of the coalition have reached preliminary agreement on the party’s leadership and zoning of its presidential ticket.

Ralph Nwosu revealed that he has also accepted to resign as the party’s national chairman immediately after the coalition.

Meanwhile, Nasir El-rufai has been taunted over his son’s show of solidarity with Tinubu.  Controversial pastor and ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri while reacting to Bello El-rufai declaring support for president Tinubu, teased Nasir El-rufai. He sarcastically asked how El-rufai stands to convince Nigerians not to vote for president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 when he has not convinced his own son.

He said Nasir El-rufai’s political conspiracy against president Tinubu is in futility, noting that president Tinubu will be reelected in 2027.
