BBNaija: Sultana reveals why she converted from Christianity to Islam

Big Brother Naija season 10 reality tv show housemate, Farida Sultana Auduson Ibrahim better known as Sultana has revealed that she switched from Christianity to Islam.

The reality tv show star during her discussion with fellow housemate whose name is Zita on Wednesday night, claimed that she was born into a family with mixed religion. According to her, her mother is a Christian while her father is a Muslim. She insinuated that her parent are not fanatical about religion and do not impose their religious beliefs and convictions on their children.

Zita had inquired about how her parents allowed her to make such an uncommon decision.

She explained that she had embraced Christianity at the early stage of her life, following her mother’s path who was a Catholic. She adopted “Josephine” as her baptismal name inline with the Catholic church doctrine.

Explaining the reason for her switch to Islam from Christianity, the 25 year old reality tv show star stated that she felt that Islam resonated with her heart and convictions. According to her, she feel Islam is in consonant with her natural belief and that she considers her life compatible with the Islamic faith.

The disclosure by Sultana has elicited reactions from her fans with some expressing their discontent with her over her inability to follow the dictates of the Islamic faith she profess. Some pointed out that leaving her hair uncovered as well as her choice of dresses are in contrast with the Islam.

Sultana was born in June 1999 and hails from Adamawa State, Nigeria. She describes herself as one who loves adventure and willing to push beyond her limit. According to her, her curious nature is the reason she eagerly want to explore and seek to discern her mental and emotional life.

Sultana doubles as a beautician and plus size model with special interest in writing and possessing good kitchen skills.
