Shakiru Akinlolu is a Yoruba born Nollywood actor, filmmaker, and screenwriter. He has featured in over forty Nollywood movies and collaborated with prominent filmmakers and actors in the Nigeria’s movie industry.
Shakiru Akinlolu widely known as Shaku hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State, South-west of Nigeria’s federation.
Though his state of Origin is Ogun State, the filmmaker was born in Iyana Paja Area of Lagos. A community in Lagos that has produced many talents including some who have soared into global limelight.
Shakiru Akinlolu was born on June 8th, 1988– this implies that he is 37 years of age in 2025.
Education Background
Shakiru Akinlolu being born into a family without overflowing wealth, meant that his life and growth was characteristic of determination to succeed. He attended Immaculate Primary School for his basic education. After obtaining his first school leaving certificate, he attended the Amje College where he obtained his senior secondary certificate.
He thereafter pursued his higher learning at the prestigious Lagos State University Ojo, where he obtained Diploma in Public Administration.
At the conclusion of his Diploma program in Lagos State University, Shakiru Akinlolu went to the Lagos State Polytechnic now Lagos State University of Science and Technology where he earned Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication
Nollywood Acting Career
Shakiru Akinlolu acting career started in 2009 under a Yoruba movie production studio known as Odunfa. The Odunfa had prominent well established actors and actresses such as Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo), Yinka Quadri, Abbey Lanre in its production umbrella then. Hence, Shakiru Akinlolu as a greenhorn in 2009, began his acting career with these household names.
To further established himself in the business of acting and filmmaking, Shakiru Akinlolu enrolled for training in filmmaking at the Grace Academy; a theater group founded by Rafiu Afolabi.
