Former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba has sparked reactions from the Nigeria’s social media community by his recent remark about the incarcerated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Adamu Garba who is known for his distasteful remarks about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as well as his years of unsavoury propaganda against the Igbo, took to his X handle to disclose that he admires Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for his tenacity, consistence, and resilience.
Adamu Garba made the remark in his reaction to a report about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s defamatory suit against Nigerian propagandist, Reno Omokri. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) filed a suit against Reno Omokri in an Enugu State High court over Reno Omokri’s social media claims about Mr. Kanu and the IPOB.
Mr. Reno Omokri had in his social media publications claimed that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, his supporters , and the IPOB were responsible for several k!llings across the Igbo land. He blamed the secessionist group for several crimes in the southeast.
Kanu through his lawyer, Ejimakor Ejiofor had notified Mr. Reno Omokri about the acclaimed libelous publication. He was told to delete the publication and to also tender public apology.
At the expiration of the said notice to him.
Consequently, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu seeks the Enugu State High court to award 60 billion naira in damages to him and against Reno Omokri.
Hence, reading about Kanu’s suit against Reno Omokri, Adamu Garba revealed that he admires Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s resilience and fighting spirit.
He wrote: “somehow somehow, i like Nnamdi Kanu’s fighting spirit”.
Adamu Garba in had previously linked Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to terrorism as well as attributing major crimes in the southeast region to IPOB. He had also promoted bigotry against the Igbos including referring to Peter Obi as IPOB member.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu since his controversial rendition in Kenya in 2021, has been held in the Nigeria’s detention facility amid back and forth litigation.
