Nollywood actor, Jerry Williams has been reportedly arrested by Nigeria’s security operatives.
Reliant.ng learnt that the actor was arrested by Nigeria’s security operatives on Monday, 21st of July, 2025.
According to a social media user, Stanley Ontop who claims being the actor’s friend, Jerry Williams’ arrest is linked to a man whose known as Nwafor Franklin also known as Izutech.
Stanley Ontop insinuated that Nwafor Franklin had petitioned the Nigerian Police Force against Jerry Williams. The actor was thereafter arrested by the police over Franklin’s petition. According to him, the petitioner, Nwafor Franklin should be held should any harm happen to Jerry Williams.
While recounting how he got to know about Jerry Williams’ disappearance, he explained that he arrived at the actor’s apartment to discover that the actor had disappeared. He sought from neighbours to know the where about of the actor and was informed about his arrest by the Nigeria’s security operatives.
This comes in the face of Jerry Williams’ unresolved controversy in the Nollywood. The stellar actor’s career was punctuated by his suspension by the Nigeria’s Guild of Actors over his alleged substance abuse.
The Nigeria’s Guild of Actors had cited the actor’s safety as well as the safety of his fellow actors on set for his suspension. The body stated that the actor will be restored into Nollywood if he turns a new leaf. He was advised to seek rehabilitation necessary for his wellness as well as for his suspension to be lifted.
Interestingly, while the actor has continued to serve his suspension with little being heard about his off the screen life, he has reportedly been plunged into another controversy.
His arrest has been speculated to be linked to his growing debt.
