Convener of defunct pressure group, bring-back-our-girls, Mrs Aisha Yesufu has revealed that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi will not go to the presidential election tribunal after the 2027 presidential election.

Aisha Yesufu who is averse to the idea of Peter Obi becoming Atiku Abubakar’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election, insinuated that Peter Obi will be contesting for the 2027 presidential election and that he will defeat other candidates including president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Aisha Yesufu made this claim through her X handle on 30th of May, 2025. The former member of the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential campaign council, declared that Peter Obi will be taken to court over 2027 presidential election and not him going to challenge the presidential election results before the presidential electoral tribunal. According to her, Peter Obi’s presidential election victory in 2027 will be challenged in court and not him as he is going to be declared the winner of the 2027 presidential election.

She wrote: ” 2023 we took them to court. 2027 God willing, we will be the ones taken to court”.

Reliant.ng had reported that Aisha Yesufu who is strong supporter of Peter Obi’s presidential ambition and a member of the Obidient movement, had rebuffed report by the Punch Newspaper which claimed that Peter Obi has agreed to become Atiku’s running mate in 2027. The activist threatened to stop supporting Peter Obi should he relinquishes his presidential ambition for vice presidential nomination by Atiku.

While the feasibility of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu defeat in 2027 still remains a mere imagination in the minds of his political rivalries, many have argued that the Nigeria’s president who had boasted in the past about his not losing any election he had contested in, can be defeated.

In view of this, the main opposition parties’ figures comprising former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El-rufai, Romiti Amaechi, and former attorney general of the federation, Abubakar Mallami have started galvanizing the opposition parties into a powerful force to thwart president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

This political conspiracy against the Tinubu’s government is viewed by many Nigerians as a rescue mission especially in the face of Nigeria’s increasing economic hardship and worsening insecurity.

Hence, despite the coalition party still at its birthing stage, some Nigerians are optimistic about such an alternative to the vastly adjudged underperforming administration of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

However, the proposed coalition party faces ideological crisis especially as its prominent members are coming from different political parties with differed ideology. Also, the coalition is understood to be in dilemma over who among the top contenders including past presidential aspirants would emerge the coalition party’s presidential candidate.

Despite the vast majority of Nigerian youths clamouring for a Peter Obi presidency, it is believed that Peter Obi who has confirmed his membership in and support for the coalition party, is unlikely going to become its flag bearer.

While former vice president Atiku Abubakar stands as the favourite to emerge the coalition party’s 2027 presidential candidate, the former vice president do not resonant with the vast majority of the Nigerian youths who desire a more youthful, vibrant president without corruption taint.
